Fundraiser

The Microbiology Society is a professional science-based membership charity for scientists interested in microbes, their effects, and their practical uses. It is one of the largest microbiology societies in Europe with a worldwide membership based in universities, industry, hospitals, research institutes, and schools.

The Microbiology Society launched its first fundraising campaign in 2021 - The Unlocking Potential Fund. We are seeking a Fundraiser to drive forward this programme to increase donations. The Unlocking Potential fundraising appeal will generate funds to underwrite a new grant, known as the Unlocking Potential Grant. It will make funds available to early and mid-career members who may require an extra level of support to help them deal with a situation that threatens to hold them back from achieving what they could.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a programme of work to support this activity for the Society, which will have a significant impact on its members and the important work they undertake, and you will help to create, develop and deliver activities to engage with members and encourage philanthropic giving.

The position would best suit an experienced fundraiser who can hit the ground running. You will be creative, confident and well versed in building relationships and running activities to support fundraising appeals and we look forward to hearing from you.

Please note that this role is based in London and will include occasional travel
